Mr. Darron Jackson

Darron Jackson, Elementary School Dean of Culture

With over 31 year in public education, Mr. Jackson has served the Detroit Public Schools and the Community District in the capacity of teacher, instructional specialist, assistant principal, and principal for 25 years, collectively.  After a brief stint as a business owner, Mr. Jackson returned to his passion of serving children as the current Dean of Culture and Climate at Munger Elementary School.  

After completing his studies at Morehouse College in Atlanta, GA, Mr. Jackson starting his journey as an educator as a Corp member for Teach for America, where he taught for 5 years in Houston, TX. 

Upon coming home to Michigan and over the last 25 years, Mr. Jackson has a proven track record of establishing great rapport with the communities he has served.  With his expertise in developing systems and integrity in communicating with all stakeholders with respect and empathy, he serves as great value added to the culture and climate of Munger Elementary Middle School.

Mr. Kalil Hill

Mr. Hill joins Munger Elementary-Middle School as the new Dean of Culture, bringing with him a strong passion for academic achievement, community engagement, and inclusion. As a proud graduate of Detroit Public Schools, Mr. Hill deeply understands the unique experiences, strengths, and challenges of Detroit’s students. He is a graduate of Grand Valley State University, where he played collegiate football and completed his studies in Kinesiology and Business.

In his role as Dean of Culture, Mr. Hill is focused on fostering a positive school climate that emphasizes respect, responsibility, and resolve. He believes in building strong relationships with students, staff, and families, ensuring that Munger remains a safe and welcoming space for all. Mr. Hill is dedicated to restorative approaches to discipline, encouraging students to learn from challenges and make positive choices that contribute to the school's climate and culture.

Outside of his professional responsibilities, Mr. Hill takes pride in being a mentor and advocate for Detroit’s youth. He is currently coaching varsity football at Harper Woods High School. Munger Elementary-Middle School is thrilled to welcome Mr. Hill to his new role and looks forward to the lasting impact he will make on the school’s climate and culture.

Mr. Rolando del Corral

Holding degrees in Psychology, Philosophy, and a Master of Divinity, Mr. D blends intellectual depth with a compassionate, faith-driven approach to leadership. Known affectionately as Mr. D, he continues to serve as a positive force for students, families, and staff—creating a culture where every child feels valued, capable, and inspired to succeed.

Mr. D is a proud Detroit Public Schools graduate who has served the Detroit Public Schools Community District for more than 15 years with distinction and heart. His career has been centered on building a strong culture of learning, respect, and accountability that helps students thrive both academically and personally.

Over the years, Mr. D has collaborated with members of Congress, supported city initiatives gang prevention, intervention initiatives through the Mayor’s Office, and received recognition for his outstanding leadership and service to the Southwest Detroit community. His work extends beyond school walls—developing programs in job readiness, robotics, mathematics, science, and after-school enrichment that empower youth to grow in skill, confidence, and purpose.
