Ms. Deanna Hunt

Principal Deanna Hunt is originally from Southfield, Michigan, and is a graduate of Southfield High School. Although not a native Detroiter, she comes from a long heritage of Detroit educators. Her maternal grandmother and mother were both Detroit Public Schools educators, retiring as such, and much of Deanna’s life was spent visiting, learning, and observing strong educational pedagogical strategies that work for all children.

Principal Hunt attained her bachelor’s degree from Wayne State University and then went on to pursue her master’s degree in School Principalship from Central Michigan University. Upon graduating, she began her teaching career at Ella Fitzgerald Elementary on Detroit’s west side. From there, she taught at several other schools throughout Detroit but continued to focus on STEM, science, and math best practices to help motivate and support her students.

Ms. Hunt has experience as an Assistant Principal and Principal and is committed to servicing students and families.  She is excited to join the Greenfield Union team and is looking forward to meeting the needs of our community.
