Mrs. Elonka Kenyatta

In 2022-2023, Mrs. Kenyatta was promoted to Assistant Principal at Fisher Magnet Upper Academy, marking a significant milestone in her educational career. This promotion is a testament to her dedication, leadership abilities, and passion for fostering student success.

Starting her career as a teacher in the Dallas Independent School District in 2012, Mrs. Kenyatta's journey has been marked by a steadfast commitment to providing quality education to students. Her relocation to Detroit in 2018 led her to join the Detroit Public Schools Community District (DPSCD), where she quickly made an impact as the 3rd grade ELA Master Teacher at Fisher Magnet Lower Academy.

Her expertise in literacy education and her ability to support and inspire educators led to her transition into the role of Literacy Coach on Special Assignment (LCOSA) the following year. Mrs. Kenyatta's dedication to professional development and teacher support further propelled her career when she became a Training & Support Coordinator within the Literacy Intervention Team in December 2021.

Mrs. Kenyatta's promotion to Assistant Principal at Fisher Magnet Upper Academy in 2022-2023 reflects her exemplary leadership and her proven track record of positively impacting both students and staff. In her new role, she continues to be committed to supporting teachers, school personnel, parents, and community members to ensure that all students receive the education and support they need to succeed.

With Mrs. Kenyatta's leadership and dedication, Fisher Magnet Upper Academy is well-positioned to continue its tradition of excellence and to provide students with the tools and skills they need to excel academically and personally. Her continued commitment to fostering a positive and supportive learning environment will undoubtedly contribute to the ongoing success of the school community.
