Dr. Green is so excited to introduce herself as the new Principal of Fisher Magnet Upper Academy. She is honored to have been selected to join the Fisher team, which is known far and wide for its dedication to excellence, but importantly, to children. Over the past 17 years, she has worked as a teacher and administrator, but considers her most important job to be that of a child advocate. She will spend most of her time with your children, getting to know them personally, their interest and styles of learning. Dr. Green will celebrate their successes, large and small. She will encourage them every day and let them know they are valued and have a special place in their school community.

Not only is she excited to begin working with your children, but she looks forward to the work the community will do together. As the old African Proverb states “It takes a village to raise a child”. Dr Green cannot wait to share with you the great things the community will do throughout the days at Fisher Upper.

Dr. Green’s goal is to ensure that all children are healthy, happy and safe so they may learn as much as they can. Along with the teachers and staff, she will work hard to continue the legacy of success established by Fisher by building strong relationships with parents, students and community partners. We will focus on character education initiatives, the use of data driven instruction and provide consistent implementation of the curriculum in a rigorous manner so that we can continue to increase all of the students’ achievement.

All of us at Fisher Magnet Upper Academy are eager and excited to begin what promises to be a new beginning. This year is going to be amazing as we continue to provide academic experiences for our students that are rigorous, relevant, and help them build relationships while making real-world connections. As the Principal, it is important to Dr. Green that everyone who steps through the doors- teachers, students and parents- are excited to be here. This attitude enables us to meet the challenges of academic excellence in a positive, fun, and nurturing environment.
