Ms. Yolanda Harris
Ms. Yolanda Harris is a dedicated, respected, leader and rising educator born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. She is a graduate of Martin Luther King High School , Detroit Public Schools Community District. She is the Assistant Principal at Carstens Academy Elementary Middle school. Ms. Harris began her career with the Detroit Public Schools Community District (DPSCD) in 2001, through the Limited License to Instruction Program. She had an epiphany to become an educator following a career in business.
Ms. Harris attended Oakland Community College with an Associate degree in General Studies, Cleary University, Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, and Wayne State University Master of Arts in Teaching in Elementary Education, an Education Specialist in Special Education, and a State of Michigan Administration Certification in Education Leadership.
She served in the capacity of Master Teacher, Classsroom Teacher Assessment Coordinator, School Imorovement Chairperson, Curriculum Guide Writing for Mathematics (Eureka Math) and a member of the formative Assessment Process Learning Team for Michigan Educators (FAME) initiative.
Ms. Harris is very passionate about teaching and making certain that all students experience success and reach his or her maximum potential.
