In honor of the late Catherine Carter Blackwell, a former Detroit Public School teacher, internationally recognized authority of African and African American studies, we commit to continue bringing about an awareness of the contribution of African American to the growth and development of this country. Catherine Blackwell Institute mission is to prepare life-long learners utilizing technology infused, research-based, data-driven instruction in order for our students to compete and succeed globally.

This will be accomplished while educating the whole child and servicing our community.
