Dear Parents and Guardians,

Welcome to our school’s webpage! It is with great excitement and honor that I introduce myself as the new principal of Catherine C. Blackwell. While we recognize that this transition may feel abrupt, please be reassured that your child continues to be supported by a dynamically dedicated team. It is a privilege to step into a school with such a strong foundation, and I look forward to building meaningful partnerships with our scholars, families, and staff as we continue the important work already underway.

At Blackwell, our school motto— “We do Black (excellence) well”—is more than words; it is a daily commitment to high expectations, academic excellence, and the celebration of culture, identity, and achievement. I believe deeply in this mission and am committed to ensuring that every scholar is supported, challenged, and empowered to reach their full potential.

I am grateful for the devotion of our staff, who continue to provide a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for our scholars. Together, we will focus on strong instruction, character development, and building relationships that foster trust, belonging, and success.

Family partnership remains essential to our scholars’ growth. I value open communication and collaboration, and I encourage you to stay engaged as we move forward together. Your voice, support, and involvement play a critical role in helping our scholars thrive.

As I begin this journey at Blackwell, I am excited about what lies ahead and confident that, together, we will continue to elevate our school community and honor our commitment to excellence. Guided by the African proverb, “It takes a village to raise a child,” we remain committed to working together to ensure our children are prepared, confident, and capable of achieving greatness.
