Ms. Artra Bell
It is with great pleasure that I begin the next chapter of my career here at Greenfield Union Elementary/Middle School. My name is Artra Bell and I am the new Interim Principal. I am elated to take on this new responsibility as it gives me the best opportunity to support all stakeholders invested in Greenfield Union. I can continue to take a collaborative approach to coaching our teachers to become the best that they can be for the students we serve and further share my expertise beyond the classroom. I will also be able to help facilitate a culture and climate conducive to learning and be the liaison that our families and teachers need to develop a working partnership in educating our students. It is such a rewarding experience.
I have taught in and around metro Detroit for the last 16 years. Most of my experience has been in high school. I believe that this alone, gives me a slight advantage in educating your children, because I have a broad spectrum of knowledge that will help to catapult their success. Using this lens, I am eager to support the vision and mission of DPSCD while aligning and connecting those with the goals of the families we serve.
I received my bachelor's degree in secondary education (6-12) with an emphasis in English and Health from Wayne State University. I obtained my master's degree from Saginaw Valley State University in Educational Leadership. I am currently pursuing my doctoral degree at Spalding University. My passion and mission are to continue working with inner-city youth, planting seeds that will one day blossom and flourish. This will be a year of growing pains as we tackle the continued barriers associated with the pandemic and other obstacles. I look forward to partnering with parents, community leaders, school leaders and district personnel to reach and teach the total child.
