The District operates a Mental Health Hotline that provides online counseling to students and parents and is staffed by DPSCD social workers trained in addressing trauma, grief, and resource determination. Referrals for additional services may also be provided, if interested. In addition to online counseling, students and families will be able to receive referrals for additional services. This hotline may be reached by calling 1-833-466-3978 during the academic year from Monday to Thursday, 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Note: The Hotline will not operate on days when schools are closed.
If you are looking for mental health options outside of this time or when school is on a break, The Detroit Wayne Integrated Health Network (DWIHN) also has several resources, including a 24-hour helpline which can be reached at 1-800-241-4949. Please follow the link provided for more information.
