Celebrating Farm to School Month at Harvest Fest Kick Off Sat. Oct 1

DPSCD’s Office of School Nutrition (OSN) is celebrating Farm to School Month during October. To kick-off the month, OSN’s Farm and Garden program will host its fifth Harvest Fest at Drew Farm located on the campus of Drew Transition Center, 9600 Wyoming, Detroit, 48214 on Saturday, October 1, 2022, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The community is invited to join us for a free, fun-filled day that will feature hayrides, a corn maze, pumpkin painting, face painting, games, activity stations, farm tours, smoothie demos, and more. Additionally, the Detroit Health Department (DHD) will administer COVID-19 vaccines, flu shots, and childhood immunizations.

Free pumpkins will be available while supplies last. Refreshments include Michigan apple cider, Michigan-made donuts, caramel apples, cotton candy, and popcorn. We’ll see you on Saturday, October 1, 2022, for Harvest Fest!
