Mid-Winter Break Resources for DPSCD Students and Families the Week of Feb. 17- Feb. 21
One of Detroit Public Schools Community District’s (DPSCD) core values is providing service to our staff, students and families throughout the academic and calendar year. Below are a few resources to serve you while we are on break.
February Mid- Winter Break
DPSCD is on Mid-Winter Break from Monday, February 17, 2025, to Friday, February 21, 2025. Students and families can use this guide for access to information on immunization and vaccination clinics, academic enrichment exercises as well as access to mental health resources and much more.

Health Hubs
DPSCD Health Hubs will be open with limited hours during the Mid-Winter Break. Health Hub/Family Resource Distribution Center--Limited Locations/Holiday Hours: The Health Hub locations at East English Village Preparatory Academy at Finney and Western High School will be open on a limited basis during the District's winter break. The Health Hub Navigators will be on site to assist with connection to resources and access to basic needs and shelf stable food.
East English Village Preparatory Academy at Finney:

Vaccinations and Immunizations for the Community
In partnership with the Detroit Health Department (DHD), families can continue to make immunization and vaccination appointments at the DHD’s 100 Mack Avenue location (across from Whole Foods). All vaccines and COVID testing for children and adults will be available 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The Samaritan Center located at 5555 Conner will be available from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with the last appointment at 3:45 p.m. for Flu and COVID vaccines only. Appointments are accepted but not required.

Family Resources
The Office of Homeless and Foster Care (OHFC) encourages all DPSCD students and their families that might be experiencing loss of shelter during the Mid- Winter Break to contact Coordinated Assessment Model (CAM) at 313-305-0311. CAM will work with families to determine their needs and provide various resources. Warming centers are available to families that are displaced. OHFC has partnered with the DPSCD Department of Public Safety, to provide transportation support for DPSCD students to the appropriate shelter. Families can contact the Public Safety Headquarters at 313-748-6000. For further assistance complete the external referral form.
Local food pantries are accessible to families that need support with food assistance. Families can create an account for a Link2Feed card with local food banks.
Curriculum and Instructional Resources
Through the DPSCD’s Office of Curriculum and Instruction (C&I), you can keep your child engaged during the Mid-Winter Break with an array of resources, from maintaining momentum with literacy and math instruction to games designed to enhance learning.
