Common Black College Application, DPSCD HBCU Night-As part of College Month in October, the District will conduct an HBCU Night on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, at 5:30 p.m. on Teams.  Get information on attending a Historically Black College or University (HBCU) as well as details on how the Common Black College Application has extended their partnership to allow our students to complete the application free of charge. See you online at 5:30 p.m.!

DPSCD’s Pre-K Applications Still Open: If you know of any families who are in need of Pre-K placements, in the Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP), serving students who are four years old, families can still apply. Application information along with school sites and other details are available when you click here.

School Spotlight-Marquette Elementary-Middle: Serving students in grades Pre-K to 8, Marquette Elementary-Middle provides students with a supportive learning environment with an increased emphasis on writing, reading and mathematics as well as extra-curricular activities such as band, basketball, and a garden program. You can get more information on Marquette, an east side neighborhood school, on its webpage. If you know a family that is looking for a school home, keep in mind Marquette will welcome them. 

Support Staff Hiring Fair is Thursday, October 27, 2022, DPSCD is seeking support staff workers such as clericals, security personnel, food service workers and much more at the next Support Staff Hiring Fair on Thursday, October 27, 2022, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Holy Ghost Cathedral Church, 1745 E. Grand Blvd., Detroit, 48221. Candidates can register and get more information by visiting October 27th DPSCD Hiring Fair Registration. Registration closes on Wednesday, October 26, 2022.
