A Visit from Detroit Firefighters

In January, we had two Detroit firefighters visit our school to teach Kindergarten through 5th grade students about fire safety. They showed us what to do in case of a fire, like "getting low" to stay safe from smoke, and shared some tips on how we can be proactive at home, such as replacing the batteries in our smoke detectors and making a plan in case of a fire. The students had lots of great questions, and one lucky student even got to try on all the firefighter gear!
