Are you ready for the Solar Eclipse?

This Monday April 8, 2024 marks the first Solar Eclipse in the United States since 2017 and the first eclipse visible in Michigan since 1957. In partnership with AREN, DPSCD provided all of its schools with eclipse glasses to ensure students could see this momentous occasion safely.

In an email to families, Superintendent Nikolai Vitti emphasized the importance of students being in school for the full day, stating that "We believe that being in school will provide a structured environment where students can experience the eclipse safely and with educational support".

For more information, check out the District's post on how to stay safe during the eclipse.
