Back-to-School Rally and Clemente Day Celebration

Tuesday, September 12, marks a significant day for the Roberto Clemente Learning Academy's Back-to-School Celebration event, organized by its partners, the Detroit Tigers Foundation, bubly sparkling water, and United Way for Southeastern Michigan. The event took place just days before Roberto Clemente Day, and concludes a month-long volunteer effort, with activities planned for students, teachers, and special guests: Tigers pitcher Eduardo Rodríguez and infielder Andy Ibáñez.

Students enjoyed their field day and understood that every school day matters. And when they are in school, students can take advantage of fun activities and resources for the entire school year, every day.

Highlights of the event included a special trophy presentation emphasizing the Academy's focus on attendance, while information was shared about the backpack partnership which has secured over 7,000 backpacks filled with school supplies for K-12 students across southeast Michigan. This contribution alleviates substantial financial strain for families, enabling them to better allocate their budgets towards other essential costs.
