Degrees and Certifications:
Ms. Zetia Hogan
I am excited for the 2022-2023 school year. This is my fourth year as principal of FLICS, and It's an honor to serve this community. The past two years have been challenging; however, we completed the school year with your tenacity, resilience, patience, and exibility.
Our theme this school year is “Rise to the Challenge #onwardandupward. We climb mountains together.”
We have several methods of communication; The weekly newsletter, Robo callers, emails, Class Dojo, and our FLICS website. Please ensure all of your information is up to date in Powerschool with email and phone numbers, so our village can stay connected. We encourage our community to participate in engagement activities (curriculum nights, extracurriculars, Town Hall meetings, eld trips, and other volunteer opportunities. We are asking all our village members to sign up to volunteer and support our community at least twice a school year through chaperoning eld trips and volunteering at events in our school community. We also encourage families to become members and actively participate in the PTA. If you are interested in the PTA please send an email. All members of the community can sign up to volunteer in the school community through this link https://dpscd.galaxydigital.com.
We have high academic expectations for our scholars, and we expect that scholars attend school daily. FLICS scholars are expected to maintain a 2.6 G.P.A. for the entire school year. We will offer several forms of intervention to support and push our scholars to do their best. This school year focuses on Literacy, Math Intervention , Social and Emotional Learning and Language Clubs. We will continue building a collaborative, engaging community that puts scholars rst.
Finally, there are NO COVID protocols for the 2022-23 School Year. Masks are optional; however, we will still have masks and hand sanitizers for scholars. Renaissance and East English village drive-up testing will remain open.
I look forward to partnering with you to foster communication, support, kindness, understanding, and grace and mercy. We are "One of a Kind" here at FLICS, and we are moving mountains together as a village. Let's begin this school year the same way we start every day with our scholars grounded in the motto of FLICS. “Learn a Language, Share a culture, Change the world.”
