Mrs. Claudette Williams, Dean of Culture

Mrs. Claudette Williams has been working for Detroit Public Schools for 26 years. She was a bus driver for six years. The last twenty years we have known her as Officer Williams for DPS. She was asked to come up with a way to bridge the gap between the police department and DPS schools. From that request the Community Police Program for DPS was created. She has been the only Community Police Officer throughout DPS teaching students in PreK-8th grade schools how to be safe and make good choices.

Officer Williams was born in England, but she has lived in Detroit all of her life. She has her Bachelors Degree in Sociology from the University of Detroit Mercy. She loves sports. She has coached basketball and baseball. She is currently team mom for two little league football teams and a captain's mom for her son's high school football team. Officer Williams also enjoys working out and reading. The one thing she enjoys the most is spending time with her family.

Officer Williams is looking forward to the school year and getting to know the students, parents and staff of FLICS.
