Bethune Electives: Teaching the Whole Child

We offer electives such as music, STEM lab training, and physical education. Each grade band is given at least 3 hours a week in each elective, ensuring a well rounded school week of learning.

Physical Education

Mr. Sutgrey leads our Phys Ed classes and teaches students life skills like Dodgeball, Football and Basketball drills that encourage agility and stamina- and so much more.

Music

Ms. Markita Moore facilitates an amazing music program in school that extends students to opportunities outside of school as well. She recently won a Detroit to Brazil and Back: Afro-Brazilian Beats and Percussion grant from Give A Note Foundation's 2019 Music Education Innovator Award!

S.T.E.M.

Ms. White leads the Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics elective at school that introduces students to theories in building and supporting the built world around us- from bridges, circuits and games.
