Arrival/Dismissal Procedures

  • Entry Procedures

    1. Keidan students and visitors will use door 14 to enter and exit the building. All other doors are not to be used to enter the building.
    2. The first period begins at 7:30 a.m.; all students will be escorted to their homerooms by staff and make preparations for the school day. Breakfast starts at 7:30 a.m.
    3. Parents dropping off students must sign in at door 14/security station. A staff member will then be notified of your child’s arrival and will report to the main office to escort your child to their homeroom.
    4. Parent/Guardian visits to classrooms: While all parents/guardians are encouraged to visit their child (ren) classrooms during the school day at Keidan. We must ensure that academic and behavioral student expectations are not disrupted. If a parent/guardian would like to visit their child (ren) classroom they are encouraged to schedule a date and time with the classroom teacher prior to their arrival.
    5. Students are to remain on the bus/cab until 7:30 a.m. Students are not to enter the building before 7:30 a.m. without parent/guardian supervision. Parents/Guardians are asked to cooperate by understanding that supervision is unavailable before 7:30 a.m.
    6. School Hours are Monday-Friday 7:30 a.m.-2:40 p.m.
    7. Early dismissal (Half days) 7:30 a.m.-11:40 a.m.

    Dismissal From School

    1. Parents picking up their child(ren) must sign in at the door 14/security station to let office staff know of entry.
    2. Parents/Guardians wishing to sign a student out of school must present a valid Michigan Driver’s license or State Identification card. The person’s name must also appear on the child’s computerized record in order for the student to be released.
    3. A staff member will then be notified of your child’s dismissal and will report to the main office with your child(ren)

    Early Dismissal From School

    1. In case of an emergency requiring early dismissal, the parent/guardian must make the request in writing and plan to come into the office and sign the child out of school. Parents/Guardians wishing to sign a student out of school must present a valid Michigan Driver’s license or State Identification card. The person’s name must also appear on the child’s computerized record in order for the student to be released.
