Arrival/Dismissal Procedures

Entry Procedures
- Keidan students and visitors will use door 14 to enter and exit the building. All other doors are not to be used to enter the building.
- The first period begins at 7:30 a.m.; all students will be escorted to their homerooms by staff and make preparations for the school day. Breakfast starts at 7:30 a.m.
- Parents dropping off students must sign in at door 14/security station. A staff member will then be notified of your child’s arrival and will report to the main office to escort your child to their homeroom.
- Parent/Guardian visits to classrooms: While all parents/guardians are encouraged to visit their child (ren) classrooms during the school day at Keidan. We must ensure that academic and behavioral student expectations are not disrupted. If a parent/guardian would like to visit their child (ren) classroom they are encouraged to schedule a date and time with the classroom teacher prior to their arrival.
- Students are to remain on the bus/cab until 7:30 a.m. Students are not to enter the building before 7:30 a.m. without parent/guardian supervision. Parents/Guardians are asked to cooperate by understanding that supervision is unavailable before 7:30 a.m.
- School Hours are Monday-Friday 7:30 a.m.-2:40 p.m.
- Early dismissal (Half days) 7:30 a.m.-11:40 a.m.
Dismissal From School
- Parents picking up their child(ren) must sign in at the door 14/security station to let office staff know of entry.
- Parents/Guardians wishing to sign a student out of school must present a valid Michigan Driver’s license or State Identification card. The person’s name must also appear on the child’s computerized record in order for the student to be released.
- A staff member will then be notified of your child’s dismissal and will report to the main office with your child(ren)
Early Dismissal From School
- In case of an emergency requiring early dismissal, the parent/guardian must make the request in writing and plan to come into the office and sign the child out of school. Parents/Guardians wishing to sign a student out of school must present a valid Michigan Driver’s license or State Identification card. The person’s name must also appear on the child’s computerized record in order for the student to be released.
