We draw upon the expertise of our educators and work together to create models of outstanding achievement in every classroom. Through implementing high-quality instructional materials and transforming the academic culture in our schools, we challenge and inspire our students to thrive in the world. With a wide variety of academics and enrichment opportunities aligned with state standards, we support students in unlocking their potential as they extend their skills and talents beyond the classroom. - English Language Arts - We are committed to nurturing and developing a strong literacy foundation for all students in the early school years by implementing literacy instructional frameworks that prepare students to become independent readers and writers.
- Math - The mathematics curriculum seeks to ensure mathematical competence and confidence in students in mathematics-rich classroom environments.
- Science - Classroom experiences in science are connected to real-world phenomena and provide opportunities to engage in science and engineering practices through exposure to STEM-related career pathways.
- Social Studies - Students gain the content knowledge, intellectual skills, and core democratic values necessary for fulling their civic duties in a participatory democracy and effectively engaging in our global society.

Keidan teachers use research based, direct instruction curriculum to suppport our student's academic growth.
Our CI (Cognitive Impairment) classrooms primarily use the Attainment curriculum that blends literacy, technology, print, and communication activties. Our teachers focus on IEP goals and objectives as they teach basic literacy and numerarcy skills and blend functional academics to meet the needs of our student population. Unique Learning Systems Curriculum is a suppliment curriculum that our teachers combine with Attainment to provide an academic curriculum that includes reading, writing, math, science and social studies concepts.
Our ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) classrooms use the Styer-Fitzgerald Program to address the academic needs of our students. Our teachers blend academic skills, functional skills, and Applied Behavior Analysis in their classrooms with the express purpose of enhancing independence.
All of our academic curriculums include pre and post assessment tools to allow our staff to closely monitor student progress and easily adapt teaching strategies to best meet the unique needs of the learners we have at Keidan.

At Keidan, we know how important it is to have a well rounded curriculum, and our students have an elective or "specials" class daily.
Adapted PE: Our Physical Education Teacher has units that teach our students team sports and individual sports. Our students use adaptive equipment to match their physical skills, and learn how to exercise their bodies for increased life-long health. Often our occupational therapists and physical therapists will join our PE classes to further support IEP goals and objectives.
Art: Our Art teacher aligns curriculum to national and state standards for art education. Our students learn the prinicples of art and elements of design as they work on their ability to create unique works of art. Often, the projects our students are creating are tied to seasonal, holiday, or literacy themes to create a rich and well rounded experience for our students.
Daily Living Skills: Our Daily Living Skills teacher uses National Council For Exceptional Children's Life Centered Career Education standards to inform curriculum decisions. Activities support independence, prevocational skills, leisure activities and often align to our core academics in Daily Living Skills. Students are encouraged to participate in our green school and gardening activities at Keidan during our DLS classes.
