Ms. Brown began her career in 2002. She has spent the majority of these years, teaching on the Eastside of Detroit. Before returning to DPSCD, she spent a year in the Pontiac School District, serving as Lead Teacher and Testing Coordinator. This is her second years as Assistant Principal at Neinas Dual Language Learning Academy.
Ms. Brown’s credentials include a Bachelor of Arts from Oakland University, where she studied Political Science and minored in Studio Art. She earned her Master’s Degree in Education from Marygrove College, and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership, from Grand Valley State University.
She is a firm believer in creating a strong school culture and climate, which is built on positive relationships and community. Ms. Brown believes that all students should be given real-world connections and opportunities, creating lifelong learners. "Students should be well-rounded and given many opportunities to tap into what may peak their future interests. The smallest spark can create a life-long passion and/or career path."

In her free time, Ms. Brown enjoys spending time with her six-year-old son, Symon. Other interests include reading, politics, history, art, collecting vinyl records, cooking shows, and gardening. She also enjoys attending classic rock concerts and hip-hop shows.
