Degrees and Certifications:

Deborah Sinclair

Born and raised in Detroit, I am a product of Detroit Public Schools.  I started in Kindergarten at Chaney Elementary School, attended Pelham Middle School for grades 7 and 8 and went to Cass Technical High School for grades 9-12. After graduating from Cass, I went to the University of Detroit and earned my B.S. Degree in Mathematics.  I earned Masters degrees in Curriculum and Instruction, and Educational Administration also from the University of Detroit.

I started with the district as a substitute teacher.  After becoming certified I taught mathematics, at the elementary, middle school and high school levels.  Teaching at Cass, I had the amazing opportunity to work alongside some of the teachers who were my teachers when I was a student.

My experiences at DPS and now DPSCD have been very rewarding.  My first administrative position was as Curriculum Leader at Heilmann Middle School, which is now Fisher Upper.  The Assistant Principalship at Renaissance High School was my next administrative assignment.  From Renaissance I went on to serve as Assistant Principal at Bates Academy, Southwestern High School and Earhart Elementary Middle School.

It is my belief that all children can learn and as Marquette's principal, it is my mission to make sure that each of my children reaches his or her highest potential.

It is my pleasure to serve the Marquette Elementary Middle School students, staff, families and community!
