Ms. Cynthia Clayton
Ms. Cynthia Clayton
Cynthia Clayton has enjoyed her educational career in Detroit Public Schools Community District as a middle school ELA Teacher, Literacy Coach, Assistant Principal, Principal, SED of Literacy and Social Students, SED of School Operations, and now back to her first love as the proud Principal of BurnsDPSCD where they are #theburnsdifference doing things #theburnsway.
Her educational experiences have afforded her the opportunity to collaborate with a fantastic group of people to meet the common goal of increasing student achievement and well-being. Her educational philosophy is based on her uncompromising belief that all students can learn, given a positive learning environment, strong and knowledgeable leadership, a committed and focused educational team, an encouraging community, and a supportive family.
Ms. Clayton views a collaborative school environment as crew to create successful teachers and students. She believes partnerships with parents and community partners are essential to enriching the experience at Burns Elementary Middle School.
During her free time, Ms. Clayton's greatest joy is being a mother to Madison. She believes that family is everything!
Ms. Clayton received a Bachelor's Degree in Science from Eastern Michigan University, a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership, and an Ed. Specialist from Wayne State University.
