Hello,

My name is Mr. Harper, and it is my pleasure to serve as your Assistant Principal at Bow PreK-8 School. I grew up in Detroit, Michigan, and attended Detroit Public Schools from grades K-12. I attended Bagley Elementary, Hampton Junior High, and graduated from Mumford High School. I attended Alabama A&M University and received a Bachelor of Science in Social Science Education and received a master's degree in Educational Leadership from Wayne State University. I have been employed with Detroit Public Schools and Detroit Public Schools Community District for 23 years. Within my 23 years, I taught Middle School Social Studies, served as a Curriculum Leader, Academic Engagement Administrator, and currently Assistant Principal. Also, I have coached Basketball and Football at DPSCD.

My goal is to make sure that all students are prepared to become self-sufficient, productive, and contributing members of our society. I will ensure that all students will be given the opportunity to receive a high-quality education from teachers who are committed to the district’s goals and standards. Students will meet their fullest potential in an environment that is safe, supports risk-taking, and invites sharing of ideas. I will promote student achievement by making learning a top priority. I will continue to be committed to students, parents, staff members, and all vested stakeholders in the community, working collaboratively to improve student achievement.
