Mr. Nathan Caldwell

Nathan A. Caldwell is a proud product of the Detroit Public Schools system who made the intentional decision to return home to serve the community that shaped him. He began his professional education journey over a decade ago at Henry Ford Academy, where he served for several years, later joining University Prep Schools as a Restorative Practitioner, Resident Teacher, and Counselor.

Most recently, Mr. Caldwell worked with BMEA (
Boldly Moving Education Ahead), also known as the Black Male Educators Alliance. In this role, he served as an adult mentor to elementary and high school boys, a Family Engagement Coordinator, and a Summer School Teacher.

He has now accepted the role of Dean of Culture at Bagley Elementary. Dean Caldwell firmly believes that a positive school culture is essential to a child’s education, creating the foundation for both academic and personal excellence.

Beyond his educational career, Mr. Caldwell is a devoted husband to his beautiful wife, a proud father of three wonderful children, and a strong advocate for equity and inclusion for all students.
