Ms. Yolonda Agnew

Yolonda Agnew has been educating high school students for over 20 years with the Detroit Public Schools District and now Detroit Public Schools Community District. She is a product of DPS and a proud Cass Technical High School graduate. She attended Michigan State University and Wayne State University. Ms. Agnew holds a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences, a Master of Arts degree in Secondary Science Education, and an Educational Specialist Certificate in Administration and Leadership.

During her tenure, she has served as a member of the School Improvement Committee, the Instructional Leadership Team, Lead science instructor, Mentor teacher, and Supervising Teacher of Teacher Interns from the WSU Metro TRUE mentor program. Ms. Agnew is a member of the Black Male Educators Alliance (BMEA) organization and the American Educational Research Association (AERA).

She is excited and honored to have joined the Detroit Lions Academy administrative team as the high school Assistant Principal. She is passionate about educating the youth of Detroit. She works diligently to let them know they are loved and valued to ensure that they become participating and contributing members of a global society. Ms. Agnew is a servant leader. She is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®. This illustrious sorority allows her to give back to the Detroit community and an international community, fulfilling her commitment to serving the students and their families and to be a service to all mankind.
