Honor Roll Breakfast
All students, Kindergarten through 8th grade, that have achieved a 3.0 or higher on their report card are invited to the Honor Roll breakfast with the Principal.

Autism Awareness
Every year, on or near April 2, we go BLUE for Autism awareness. The students and staff are asked to wear blue in support of those that are diagnosed with autism. During the morning meeting for the month of April, Principal Jackson provides students with information about autism and how to identify and be friends with a person with autism.

Honor Roll Assembly
All student from Kindergarten to eighth grade are honored for their hard work and dedication towards their academic success. The entire school attends the quarterly assemblies to cheer on their peers and to motivate others to do better the next quarter. Students receive certificates for Principals List(4.0 GPA), Honor Roll(3.0-3.9 GPA), and for perfect attendance.

Reading Month
Each year, the reading teachers encourage more reading throughout the building and through all content areas. Dr. Seuss day is always a big deal and the students and staff love to dress up and get into a good book.

Spelling Bee
Every year, the 1st through 5th grade students are given the opportunity to participate in the Spelling Bee presented by WXYZ of Wayne County. Students study their list of words independently and participate in the bee by grade level. Due to the pandemic, the bee for 2022 was held virtually. Ms. Rudolph(Master Teacher and 5th Grade ELA/Social Studies teacher) is the building coordinator.

Winter Concert
Hosted annually by Mr. McGhee (Instructional music) and Mr. Love(Dance), our students individually or as a whole class can sign up to be part of the program. Our talented students and staff sing, dance, create visual displays and read poems centered around the Christmas holiday.

3.14 Pi Day
The Math teachers every year celebrate Pi day with our students and the staff. Crafts, fun circular snacks, and book readings are just a few of the activites the students and staff participate in on or near March 14.

Black History Program
Hosted annually by Mr. McGhee (Instructional music) and Mr. Love(Dance), our students individually or as a whole class can sign up to be part of the program. Our talented students and staff sing, dance, create visual displays and read poems showing their peers their many talents. All performance are in honor of the men and women who paved the way for each and every one of us.

Exotic Zoo
Each year, the entire building joins Javon Stakes and his amazing variety of exotic animals right in our school building. Some animals we get to pet, and others we just get to admire from a distance.

Math Bee
Every year, the Kindergarten through 5th Grade students are given the opportunity to participate in the Math Bee. Preliminary rounds are conducted in the classroom, and the finals are held during an assembly. Ms. Patton(Master Teacher and 5th Grade Math/Science teacher) is the host. Other staff assist during the bee as time keeper, monitors, and announcers.
