Dear Harms Families,
Welcome to the 2023-2024 School Year! I am very excited to welcome you as your Principal again! School will start on Monday, August 28 and we are getting ready to welcome you back! This summer has been very busy, as our entrances are getting a facelift. The doors are more secure and our entrances will be more spacious. Due to all the construction and renovation, we have decided to choose a theme for this school year: “Building Blocks”. This theme represents the possibilities of our school community to build strong relationships with each other and continue to build a strong academic foundation. Please remember that attendance is an important key to academic success. Please send your children to school daily.
Our school is committed to providing your children with high quality instruction. We monitor their learning and we talk about data all the time. We discuss grades, attendance, behavior and socio-emotional health. Our teachers review student progress weekly so they can provide the correct supports for every student. We have additional support for students who need it, and we challenge those who can handle additional challenges. We practice being respectful, responsible and safe in all we do and say.
Since the construction was happening at the entrances, we had to delay our Back to School Expo. We will have our Open House/Expo event on September 7 from 3:00 to 5:30 pm. Please join us for games, giveaways and a quick tour of our school and classrooms. Check out our new spaces: Our Wellness Room, our Library, and our Indoor-Recess space.
Remember we always provide every student with FREE SCHOOL SUPPLIES, so you do not have to buy any for school. Also, every student will get a free uniform shirt with our school logo.
Come Soar to Great Academic Heights!
Claudia Lara-Martinez, Principal
