MLK Summer School information
Posted by Principal Perry on 5/16/2024
Greetings MLK Families,
I wanted to provide each of you with the latest and greatest Summer School Information. Academic Credit Recovery is available for any current high school student who has failed a course 1st or 2nd semester. All Summer School learning will take place virtually via the Edgenuity platform. If in-person support is needed, students are welcome to go to their school site to meet with their instructor from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm. The site for MLK is Southeastern High School located at 3030 Fairview, Detroit MI 48214. Transportation will not be provided for high school students during the summer. If a high school student needs to come on-site for support, bus passes will be provided at the Summer School school.
In order for students to be enrolled parents must go to https://bit.ly/dpscdsummer24 . Enrollment for the Summer is not complete until parents complete this link. Once completed MLK Counselors will be able to register students for courses that they failed during 1st Semester, or are currently on track for failing 2nd Semester. All MLK students are expected to be on grade level track for graduation in order to return to MLK in the fall. Summer school is only for courses failed, not courses that the student has never taken before or for enrichment. The deadline for registering for Summer School is Friday, May 24th.
