Ms. Spain and the NAF Captains of Industry- Tuesday, April 30, 2024 our NAF Academy of Finance students, Jesse Little, LaTrell Holman, Lavaughn Milton and Davion Rhodes took first place in the NAF FutureED Pathfinders Challenge. This challenge was aimed at enhancing career education for high school students. There were seven schools that participated, and the event was held at the Detroit Historical Museum.
The challenge revolved around the central question: "Imagine if high school students designed the future of career education. What would it look like?" This initiative aims to enhance student learning and highlight the importance of incorporating student voices into the future of career education.
Judges evaluated the finalists' presentations and determined King High School to be the winner of this exciting challenge. As the top team each King student was awarded $1,000. Congratulations to Ms. Spain and this amazing team for their hard work!
MLK College and Career Day- Shout out to the MLK Counseling Team in their work to welcome scores of colleges and career presenters that ascended on MLK yesterday. Several students served as guides, servers, and helpers. Every student represented the very best of Black and Gold.
Broadway Comes to 3200 E. Lafayette!-Shout out to Ms. Jeffries and the MLK Voices of King. Last Night the MLK Voices of King presented Broadway hits from shows like Hamilton, The Color Purple, Dream Girls, and The Greatest Show on Earth just to name a few. The pageantry, singing, and exuberance filled the auditorium, leaving the crowd salivating for more! Kudos to everyone who made last night possible!
