Greetings MLK Family!
I hope that each and everyone of you are enjoying this beautiful Sunday afternoon! I wanted to provide this amazing family with a few updates of happenings here at MLK!
Spring Parent Teacher Conferences- Parent Teacher Conferences will be held on Wednesday March 12th from 1:30pm-5:30pm. Conferences sessions will be first come, first serve, with strict 5 minute limits for each meeting. Here are a few insights to ensure a smooth and productive PTC meeting:
*Gather relevant documents: Collect your child's report cards and progress reports on PowerSchool Parent Portal.
*Bring your Student
*Prepare questions: Consider questions about your child's strengths, needs, challenges, and learning style.
*Create an agenda: Organize your thoughts and write down what you want to discuss.
*Prepare materials: Bring copies of student work samples
*Plan ahead
*Be positive
*Be an Active Listener
Happenings at MLK-Our Boys Basketball Team under the leadership of Head Coach George Ward continues to represent EXCELLENCE on the their ROAD to the Breslin Center for the State Basketball Championship! MLK Boys will be playing TUESDAY atUniversity Detroit Mercy at 7:30pm against Wayne Memorial High School! Tickets are available on Go Fan at https://gofan.co/app/school/MI10020
Boy’s Swim Meet at Wayne State University, on Thursday March 6, 2025 MLK Our team finished 2nd tying with Western for, second place! Shout out to Coach Peterson and Coach Kaplan and the Swim team Parents and fans here are our amazing results!
*Kevin Bettie, Jr. – 2nd Place finishes in the 200 Yards Medley and 400 Yards Freestyle Relays, 1st Place in the 50 Yards Freestyle, 2nd Place in the 100 Yards Freestyle, and Most Outstanding Swimmer of the Swim Meet.
*Tyee Coxton – 2nd Place finishes in the 200 Yards Medley and 400 Yards Freestyle Relays, 3rd Place in the 200 Yards Individual Medley, and 4th Place in the 100 Yards Butterfly.
*Jace Fields – 2nd Place finishes in the 2 00 Yards Medley and 400 Yards Freestyle Relays, 5th Place in the 200 Yards Freestyle, and 3rd Place in the 500 Yards Freestyle.
*Bernard Henry – 8th Place finishes in the 200 Yards and 500 Yards Freestyle, and 3rd Place in the 200 Yards Freestyle Relay.
*Brandon Kee – 2nd Place finishes in the 200 Yards Medley and 400 Yards Freestyle Relays, 1st Place in the 100 Yards Butterfly and, 2nd Place in the 100 Yards Breaststroke.
*Caleb Tagger – 5th Place finish in the 200 Yards Individual Medley, 5th Place in the 100 Yards Breaststroke, and 3rd Place in the 200 Yards Freestyle Relay.
*Ashton Snorden – 6th Place finish in the 50 Yards Freestyle, 7th Place in the 100 Yards Freestyle, and 3rd Place in the 200 Freestyle Relay.
*Treiden Warren - 8th Place finish in the 100 Yards Backstroke and 3rd Place finish in the 200 Yards Freestyle Relay
