Summer in the “D”PSCD Things You Need to Know
DPSCD 23-24 School Year Bus Routes: DPSCD students and families, the Office of Student Transportation will mail postcards to students scheduled to receive transportation services for the 2023-24 school year. Families keep an eye out for your postcard arriving the week of August 21, 2023. If you do not receive a postcard prior to the start of school and would like to obtain your child's transportation information, please call 313-945-8600.
Parent Academy is hosting Mental Health Check In: Join the Office of Family and Community Engagement (F.A.C.E) Tuesday August 8, 2023, at Mumford High School 4 p.m. to 5 p.m., for our monthly mental health check in discussion series. Parents and community members gather monthly to discuss various mental health topics and experiences related to parenting and personal development. Attendees share ideas, strategies, stories and laughs to help support mental wellness. To learn more about sessions held during the week and resources click here.

Support for Students and Families Facing Household Insecurities: The Office of Homeless and Foster Care is committed to identifying and providing the necessary support for young people experiencing household insecurities. If you believe your student(s) may be eligible for services, we encourage caregivers to contact the Office of Homeless and Foster Care. Caregivers can learn the range of support and services available to help students thrive. Click this link to complete the form.
Family Resource and Distribution Center (FRDC): Monthly, the Family Resource Distribution Center (FRDC) receives a generous donation from Frito Lay's Feed the Children Program that supports all DPSCD students and their families. Available resources include hygiene products, dry goods, water, school supplies, backpacks, children’s books, and at times coats are available. These resources can be requested by all district families and delivered through School Parent Outreach Coordinators and Attendance Agents. Prior to visiting the center, please submit this form. The FRDC is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Family and Community Engagement Office 16164 Asbury Park Detroit, MI 48235 (Come to door 6 via the parking lot on Murray Hill (formerly Adult Education West)
