Bunche American Sign Language Program A Lesson in Inclusivity for All: At Bunche Preparatory Academy, inclusion is more than just a word. It’s a practice enhanced by the school’s recent addition of American Sign Language (ASL) to the core curriculum, a course that both supports the students in the school's Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) program and broadens hearing students’ cultural understanding.   Read more here.

Alumni Spotlight of the Week: Like many 8th graders, Justin Brooks took ‘the test’ to attend one of the district’s examination-entry schools of choice. At the time, he wanted to be a Software Engineer just to see his name pop up on the screen when he started his computer. After some careful research on how he could become an Engineer, Justin knew Martin Luther King Jr. Senior High School’s M.S.A.T program would be the best way to ‘see his name pop up on the computer screen.’ Learn more about Justin here.

Parent Academy Free Mental Health Workshop: Join the Family and Community Engagement Team, as they discuss mental health awareness. The Office of Exceptional Student Education's Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) department is hosting Super Saturday! Super Saturday, which is a free enrichment opportunity for our gifted and talented 3rd - 5th grade students. Students will explore topics outside the typical school curriculum in dynamic sessions that appeal to high-ability students through advanced content, higher-level thinking, interdisciplinary connections, and authentic, interactive, hands-on experiences.
