Check Out Five Things You Need to Know This Week!

The Expect Respect Character Trait for December is Generosity: Families, you can help model this month’s Expect Respect character trait of Generosity as you advocate and relate to your child. Please talk to your child’s school about how generosity will be demonstrated and instructed this month. Post your actions on social media using #studentsrise.  

DPSCD Joins the World in Observing Universal Human Rights Month in December: Led by DPSCD’s Office of Equity, Advocacy and Civil Rights, the District encourages our students to find their voice around our common humanity and equality in our community, city, state, country, and world. Parent Academy Workshops This Week: Take a moment to let your parents know about the many free workshops available to them through our Parent Academy. This week’s highlights include How to Search for Scholarships, a Behavioral Health Check-In, both on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, and a Let’s Read session on Thursday, December 1, 2022. ICYMI : Congratulations to our King High School Football Team! King won the State Championship, and we are so proud of their accomplishment this school year under the direction of award-winning Coach Tyrone Spencer! Also, Congratulations to Tahiry Gosby, Emerson 4th grader, she was featured around the country in America's Thanksgiving Day Parade along with our DPSCD All City Band.  Students are rising for the world to see. Behavioral Health and Homework Hotlines Are Here for You! Following the Thanksgiving Holiday, DPSCD’s Behavioral Health and Homework Hotlines are ready to assist you this week Monday-Thursday, from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. Please dial 833-466-3978 to access and follow the prompts for social-emotional support as well as help with Literacy and/or Mathematics homework from DPSCD teachers on the Homework Hotline.
