Central staff and Durfee student on the CBS Morning show

The CBS Morning News recently highlighted Central High School and Durfee Elementary-Middle School in a special segment on rebuilding America. The feature focused on the nonprofit organization Life Remodeled, which has transformed the former Durfee Elementary building into the Durfee Innovation Society (DIS), a community hub offering resources, after-school programs, and job training for Detroit residents.

Deborah Nobles, a staff member at Central High School, and her grandson Ke’Von, a student at Durfee, were interviewed during the segment. Ms. Nobles shared how DIS has positively impacted their lives by providing opportunities for Ke’Von to participate in various programs.  Here’s the segment of the story:
