Check Out Five Things You Need to Know This Week
School Spotlight of the Week – Ronald Brown Academy stands out because of their “student first” atmosphere. Through its positive school culture, students feel safe and confident as they are encouraged to challenge themselves, try new things, and put forth their best effort in all activities. In addition to a rigorous academic curriculum, Ronald Brown staff uses Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), restorative practices, and social emotional lessons to teach students valuable life skills. “We urge our community members to join us in turning Ronald Brown Academy back into a true community school that serves our neighborhood, while lifting up our students and families,” said Principal Hunt.
Message from Board President Angelique Peterson Mayberry Every School Day Matters at DPSCD: DPSCD I'm so excited and proud to be back in schools this year. My observation from school visits tells me everyone is excited to be in school. Students are ready to learn, teachers provide great instruction, and the school atmosphere is uplifting. Everyone is doing their part from the students and families to the teachers and building leaders! When I leave the school, I have the same excitement as when I'm preparing to enter.
