The Solar Eclipse from Detroit

On April 8th, at 1:58 p.m., there was a cool event in the sky called a solar eclipse. It's when the moon covers the sun for a little while. Some students from Detroit Mary McLeod Bethune School got to see it using special glasses. These glasses are super cool because they protect your eyes while you look at the sun. When the eclipse happened, the students put on their glasses and looked up. They saw the sun turn into a crescent shape, like a banana! It was awesome! They learned a lot about space and got to see something really rare. It made them feel excited and curious about the universe.
