Mann Girls Matter Get Creative

On Friday, May 10th, Mann Girls Matter students explored their creative side at Creative Arts Studio in Royal Oak. Mann Girls Matter is a group for young female students in grades 3 through 5 (and one second grade member) at Mann Learning Community. Mann Girls Matter, led by Math Master Teacher/Michigan Teacher of the Year (23-24) Ms. C Jackson and Counselor Powell focuses on social-emotional well-being and healthy friendships, but Friday served as a bit of a break and outlet for the girls.

Arriving at Creative Arts Studio on a beautiful morning, the girls were tasked with putting their creative hats on and making a hand painted mug for a loved one or even themselves. With Mother's Day approaching, most girls easily chose to paint a mug for their mother. Their creative skills were on display as they focused on creating their masterpieces while also seeing what their friends were making and which colors they were loving.

While Mann Girls Matter has been putting SEL and friendship skills on display, they certainly can't wait to display their creative skills next!
