Arrival/Dismissal Procedures

  • Arrival

    Pre-K and Kindergarten

    • Door 1 (near room 117) will be used for grades Pre-K and Kindergarten.
    • Pre-K and Kindergarten Teachers will alternate and monitor students at entrance time.
    • There should always be two adults at each door.
    • Safety Patrol students will assist in monitoring students during entry.
    • Mr. Smith (AO) and Ms. Henderson (CCF) will be outside this door at arrival

    First, Second and Third Grades

    • Door 4 (near room 118) will be the entrance for First, Second and Third Grade Students.
    • First, Second and Third Grade Teachers will alternate and monitor students at entrance time.
    • Third grade students will use stairwell 2 (near room 108/Art Room) and proceed to their teachers’ classrooms.
    • There should always be two adults at each door.
    • Safety Patrol students will assist in monitoring students during entry.
    • Dean Webster will be outside this door at arrival

    Fourth-Eighth Grades

    • Door 3 (main door) All Teachers are outside their door in the hall during morning entrance of students.
    • All Teachers will supervise students at their lockers.
    • No Lavatory Time
    • All students are in their classes at 9:00 a.m.
    • Principal Wood and AP Dirden will be outside this door at arrival
    • All students must be taught to line up outside of your door in an area of your designation and they must be greeted individually by each teacher at the start of every class transition. This is a component of CHAMPS and also within Brewer’s Capturing Kids Hearts routine.

    Dismissal

    • There will be a staggered exit for Brewer Students.
    • The 1st floor students will prepare for dismissal at 4:05 pm
    • The 2nd floor students will prepare for dismissal at 4:08 pm
    • At the sound of the dismissal bell teachers are to escort their students outside of their assigned exit door. Pre-K and Kindergarten
    • All Students (Pre-K and K) will be dismissed from the main entrance for security purposes
    • Pre-K and Kindergarten Teachers will walk students outside and dismiss students.
    • Pre-K Parents will arrive through the main entrance only to pick up their children.
    • They must exit through the main entrance only
    • No one may enter through Door 1
    • At the sound of the dismissal bell Kindergarten students will be dismissed and escorted by their teachers through Door 1 (near 117)
    • Safety Patrol students will assist in monitoring students during dismissal.

    First, Second and Third Grades

    • All Students (grades 1-3) will be dismissed from the main entrance for security purposes.
    • First, Second and Third Grade Teachers will walk students outside and dismiss students.
    • Third grade teachers on the 2nd floor will escort their students down stairwell 2 (near room 108/Art Room) and out of Door 4.
    • Safety Patrol students will assist in monitoring students during dismissal.

    Fourth-Eighth Grades

    • All Students (grades 4-8) will be dismissed from the main entrance for security purposes.
    • All Teachers will walk their students to Door 3 for dismissal.
    • Safety Patrol students will assist in monitoring students during dismissal.
    • Attendance Officer Smith will address early pick-ups with the parents and explain their impact on student attendance records. Attendance Officer Smith will be at the main entrance door at 3:30 to address this issue
