Let Your Creative Expression Soar!
• Learn the field of graphic design and communication, digital print, photography and software imaging, and the use of specialized printing equipment
• Students learn and use Adobe (including Photoshop, Illustrator), Canva/ Microsoft Office software applications using Apple/ Windows Computers
• In this fun and interactive class, students will collaborate on projects and with customers practicing work-based learning skills
• Students will screen-print t-shirts, design layouts, signage, logos, and other marketing materials from industry standards and effective design techniques Golightly Career And Technical Center
Prerequisites: Tenth grade students or higher Course Length: 1 year to complete all 12 CTE segments. 2-Year Segment Q is optional for additional Work-Based Learning.
Industry-based training: Will include operating Color and Black and White Copiers, Large Format Printer Dye-Sublimation, Heat-Transfer equipment, Paper Bindery, Folding and using Wide Format Printing/ Vinyl Application Apparel Screen Printing/ Embroidery.
Certification • Co-Curricular Organization memberships are provided including Business Professionals of America and other industry-based organizations. College options of study: Henry Ford College, Wayne County Community College, Macomb Community College, Schoolcraft College, and College for Creative Studies.
Wages: Digital graphic designers can earn $67,568 yearly or $32.48 per hour. Print/ Multi Media Graphic Designers yearly can start at salaries between $42,000 and 55,000+ upwards thru 70,000+ depending on specialization. Digital/ Traditional Printers 48,000+.
