Mr. Robert Santavicca has dedicated 10 years and counting at Western International High School and 28 years to Detroit Public Schools

Mr. Santavicca leads our college and career pathways as the director and the administrator for the graduating class of 2020.

Mr. Franco Gonzalez

Mr. Franco Gonzalez Jr. has been an Assistant Principal at Western leading the team of Dean of Cultures and overlooking the athletic facilities. Prior to working at Western, Mr. Gonzalez Jr. was an Assistant Principal at Academy of Americas High School. He was a committed teacher and athletic director for 15 years in the Hamtramack School District and began with Detroit Public Schools in 1989.

Mrs. Angele Sutherby

Mrs. Angele Sutherby has been a passionate educator for 20 years within Detroit Public Schools Community District. During those years, she served in a number of roles as a teacher, instructional coach, district assessment administrator, and district school coach. At Western, she now oversees students in the graduating class of 2023 and school assessment/data.  In addition, she chairs the School Improvement Team and our Instructional Leadership Team.

Mr. Rene Limon

Mr. Rene Limon joined the Western team in 2018 as administrator for the graduating class of 2022. Mr. Limon has had previous teaching experience at the Academy of Americas, Earhart Elementary and now is excited to begin his journey of learning his new role.

Ms. Marsha Lewis

Ms. Lewis joined Western International High School in 2017, following 20 years of service within the Detroit Public Schools Community District. She held various positions as a teacher and was named an assistant principal during the 2018-19 school year after returning to the classroom last year. Before joining Western, Ms. Lewis was an instructional specialist for the district for years. Ms. Lewis proudly represents the graduating class of 2021.

Ms. Lewis views a collaborative school environment as the key to creating successful teachers and students. She believes partnerships with parents and community partners are essential to enriching the experience at Western. Her Motto and Teaching Philosophy speech to her love of the students and learning process.

She is a proud and active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. where she serves on a variety of committees.
