Ms. Tisha Lewis

Tisha D. Lewis, currently an Assistant Principal with Detroit Public Schools Community District, has been named Principal of Schultz Elementary Academy for Technology and Arts following the transition of the current principal to another leadership role within the district. With over 25 years of service in public education, Ms. Lewis has cultivated a deep expertise in literacy instruction, curriculum implementation, and school leadership. Prior to her current role, she served as a K–8 ELA Master Teacher and classroom teacher, consistently leading efforts to improve instructional quality, strengthen data-driven decision-making, and build strong school-community partnerships. She is the founding advisor of the Crusader Open Arms Mentorship Program and has successfully led initiatives to increase dual enrollment participation and family engagement. A proud Spartan, Ms. Lewis earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Michigan State University and is on track to complete her Educational Leadership Certificate at Wayne State University in 2025.
