Mrs. Dominique Montgomery

Dominique Montgomery is deeply passionate about empowering the students of Detroit. As a proud district graduate, she feels strongly responsible for giving back to the community that shaped her. After completing high school, she earned her bachelor’s degree in Education from Western Michigan University. She later pursued a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Grand Valley State University, furthering her dedication to advancing education in her hometown.

With extensive experience teaching grades 2 through 6, Mrs. Montgomery has worked in self-contained classrooms and as a subject-specific instructor in English Language Arts, mathematics, and social studies. Her diverse teaching background gives her valuable insight into students’ unique learning needs across different development stages.

As a parent of a DPSCD student, Dominique fully embraces the district’s motto: “Students Rise. We All Rise.” She is committed to fostering an environment where students and staff can thrive academically and personally. As Assistant Principal at Wayne, Mrs. Montgomery champions a collaborative leadership approach, partnering with educators to implement effective instructional strategies that drive student success. 

Her leadership philosophy promotes a culture of respect, accountability, and inclusivity. Passionate about supporting the whole child, Mrs. Montgomery is dedicated to cultivating kind, resilient, empathetic, and accountable individuals. She remains steadfast in her commitment to the school community’s continued growth, success, and well-being.
