College Board PSAT, SAT, and ACT WorkKeys
“THANK YOU” CMA Parents and Students for a great Spring College Board PSAT & SAT Testing Cycle. CMA’s testing participation for the assessments are as follows:
11th grade students-100% SAT
11th grade students- 97% ACT WORKKEYS (Mandatory Make-up Test Session Thursday, April 24)
10th grade students- 100% participation for PSAT
9th grade students - 98% PSAT 8/9
CONGRATULATIONS CMA!
After 5 weeks of fierce competition of DPSCD’s third annual You Khan Do It Challenge, the mighty Pharaohs of Communications and Media Arts took 1st place overall. CMA had an average number of 16 skills leveled up to proficient or mastered per student within the Digital SAT Courses in Khan Academy for both Mathematics and EBRW! CMA has earned the right to showcase the Khan Academy Showdown trophy for the year!
Drama Club Presentation – April 24
CMA is excited to present its first Annual Drama presentation “Why are Black girls named Yolanda?” Students can purchase tickets for $5.00 in the Main Office. This is a closed event. Contact Mrs. Cook-Drain for additional information.
Career Day Explosion
CMA’s Annual Career Day will be Friday, April 25. CMA is excited to host business professionals, attorneys, career tech centers, college & universities, industry & medical professionals, notable alumni and more. "Children of today are the leaders of tomorrow and education is a very important weapon to prepare children for their future roles as leaders of the community." ~ Nelson Mandela
JROTC’s Annual Dining Out
The Pharaoh Battalion is hosting our 14th Annual Dining Out on Thursday, April 24, 2025. Our guest speaker is Mr. Rodney L. Fresh Sr. Please contact Sgt. Gwendolyn Neilson, JROTC Senior Army Instructor for more information.
Senior Semester 2/Q4 Progress Reports-Thursday, April 25
Senior Q4/S2 progress reports are scheduled to go home this week. Parents, please have your son/daughter present their progress report card to you. As a reminder, Seniors have 17 school days left before graduation.

- Mandatory Senior Parent Meeting & Fundraiser at Shield's Pizza on April 23, 2025 @ 4 pm.
- Senior Q4/S2 Progress Report will be distributed Friday, April 25, 2025.
Senior Dues
The 4th and final installment of Senior Dues was due Thursday, April 3, 2025. Only cash, money orders, or cashiers’ checks are accepted. Parents and students can pay for their Senior Dues on any day of the week during their lunch hour and at 2:35 pm. See Ms. Green in the main office if you have any questions.
CMA’s College/Career Tour Experience 2025
Thank you, Counselor Mia, CMA Staff, TRiO Gear Up, TRiO Talent Search and DCAN for an awesome 2025 College/Career Tour Experience! Students toured Wayne State, Eastern Michigan, Western Michigan, Henry Ford Community, St. Clair Community, and NAACP. Our Pharaohs gained a wealth of information. Thank you!

Mobile Pantry
The School Food Mobile Program provides nutritious, healthy food for families. Items will be distributed from CMA’s parking lot on: Monday, May 12, 2025.

Our next parent meeting will be on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 @ 5:30 p.m. This will be an off-site meeting, and the location will be shared.
