Morning Enter
CMA's doors open daily by 7:30 a.m. Parents, please encourage your son/daughter to prepare the night before and to manage their time in the morning to ensure an on-time start to their school day. As a reminder, teaching and learning begins at 8:00 a.111. and students arriving after this time will be marked "tardy." CMA's goal for daily atte11da11ce is 95%.
Student I.D. cards
Students have received their student identification cards. All students are required to have and wear their 2025-2026 student LO. during the entire school day (including after-school programs). Parents, please remind your son/daughter to wear their I.D. to school daily.
PowerSchool Parent Access Code
Parents, stay connected with your student's attendance, coursework, and academic performance via PowerSehool Parent Portal. PowerSchool Parent Access Codes can be obtained by emailing april.mccain0 l@dctroitk12.org.
Dress Code Policy
Students are required to wear CMA school colors, which are black, dark purple, and/or white. Please note shorts, cheer/short, pleated skirts, tennis skirts, micro, miniskirts, mini dresses, or body con dresses/skirts are not permitted, Please reference the Summer Orientation policies or CMA's website at https://www.detroitkl2.org/cma for a complete description of the dress code policy.
Student Code of Conduct
Please take a moment to speak with your child about the importance of school safety and appropriate behavior. We have already had instances of code of conduct concerns this school year. Incidents involving vaping, misuse of social media, and physical altercations violate our student code of conduct and have serious consequences. These behaviors not only affect individual students, impact on our ability to maintain a positive and safe school climate but also jeopardize your child's enrollment at CMA.
Athletic Eligibility GPA Requirements
Parents, please be reminded that all students that play any sport must maintain a 2.0 GPA each quarter and semester. Progress Reports will be shared October 6th.
Annual Title I Parent Meeting:
CMA will host its Annual Title One Budget Parent Meeting on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at 4:00 pm. The purpose of the meeting is to review the 2025 - 2026 Parent Involvement Allocation of Title One State Funds. The meeting will take place at 4:00 p.m. in the Library. All parents are encouraged to attend the Annual Title One Parent Meeting.
Dual Enrollment College Classes
Students can earn college credits while they are earning their high school diploma. Students interested in taking advantage of these free college courses should see Counselor Mia. Dual Enrollment classes nm from September 15, 2025 -January 15, 2026.

- Computer Information Systems, CIS 110, Mondays, and Wednesdays, 3-4:25 pm
- Entrepreneurship, ENT 100, Tuesdays and Thursdays 3-4:25 pm
COUNT DAY, Wednesday, October 1
Wednesday, October 1, is Michigan's State Count Day. Families, we know that every school day counts. This is just a reminder to make sure your son/daughter attends school on October I to receive entitled state funding. Students will have the opportunity to win a variety of prizes for attending all six (6) of their scheduled classes.
Homecoming Dance, October 10th
CMA's Homecoming Dance is Friday, October 10, 2025, 7:30-11:00 p.m., at St. John's Banquet Center 22001 Northwestern Hwy. Southfield, MI 48075. Homecoming tickets are $50.00 and are on sale during students' lunch hours and between 2:31pm and 3:00 pm. Tickets go on sale on Monday, September 29. A student may oi1ly purchase one (1) ticket. Please note, the student's name on the Homecoming receipt is the name listed on the Homecoming Attendee List. Doors to the Homecoming Dance close at 8:30 pm sharp and students will not be permitted to enter. Homecoming tickets will not be refunded for students who fail to arrive at the Homecoming Dance by 8:30 pm.
