At Brenda Scott Academy we believe that by offering students a wide variety of extracurricular activities it will enrich their lives in and out of the classroom. Our activities align with our school's mission and vision that students at Brenda Scott will not only achieve academic success, but they will foster change in their communities and embrace leadership opportunities as well.

PBIS
PBIS Actvities
At Brenda Scott Academy we utilize the PBIS or Positive Behaviorial Interventions and Supports system to promote excellent student conduct. Our PBIS team is lead by our fantastic Deans Ms. Brooks, Ms. Fairley and Mr. Charles. Students that exhibit positive behaviors take part in fun outings such as roller skating, dances, special events, treats and much more. Halloween Celebrations
Halloween Celebrations
Each year at Brenda Scott we allow our younger students to express themselves by wearing their Halloween Costumes and visiting selected classrooms for a trick or treat event. It is a fun time and the younger students really enjoy it!

Holiday Programs

Black History Program
In February, students and staff at Brenda Scott put on a wonderful Black History Program. Highlights from past programs include a living wax museum, virtual reports and slide shows, poetry, guest speakers, door decorating, dance and theatre performances and more! At Brenda Scott Academy we believe that all students should experience the interesting and neat things that their community offers them. From trips to the Detroit Zoo to The Charles H. Wright Museum, students are always enhancing their learning with outside experiences at Brenda Scott!

8th Grade Promotional Activities
8th Grade Promotional Activities
Our 8th grade students are honored each year with a promotional ceremony, awards and gifts. This year the ceremony will take place at Osborn High School.
