Robotics
Bagley Robotics Team is tomorrow’s innovators who practice imaginative thinking and teamwork. First, LEGO League teams research real-world problems such as food safety, recycling, energy, etc., and are challenged to develop a solution. They also must design, build, program a robot using LEGO MINDSTORMS®, then compete on a table-top playing field. It all adds up to tons of fun while they learn to apply science, technology, engineering, and math concepts (STEM), plus a big dose of imagination, to solve a problem. Along their journey, they develop critical thinking and team-building skills, basic STEM applications, and even presentation skills, as they must present their solutions with a dash of creativity to judges. They also practice the Program’s Core Values, which emphasize discovery, teamwork and good sportsmanship.

Morning Announcers
Bagley scholars have the distinguished honor to join the Admin team for Facebook Live morning announcements. They lead the school in the Pledge of Allegiance and Expect Respect Bagley creed. They may be asked to announce additional school news.
Students can be recommended, or they can express their interest to the teacher or principal.

Safety Patrol
Bagley Safety Patrol members are school-sponsored student volunteers from upper elementary grades. Patrollers direct children, not traffic. As school-age leaders in traffic safety, patrol members teach other students about traffic safety on a peer-to-peer basis. They also serve as models for younger children, who look up to them.
School Safety Patrol members:
- Assist in monitoring the hallway areas.
- Complete training in traffic safety.
- Protect students from hazards of crossing roads and highways on their way to and from school.
- Assist bus drivers in safely transporting students to and from school.
- Teach fellow students about traffic safety.
- Serve in other leadership roles under the direction of school officials.
Typically, teachers and principals appoint patrol members, who participate with parental approval. A teacher usually serves as the patrol advisor. Local law enforcement officers may also be involved with student patrol.

Go Green Team
Bagley is committed to helping our environment as much as we can. Our Go Green Team is responsible for educating and promoting environmental awareness throughout the school. They share ways to conserve energy such as powering off computers over breaks, turning off classroom lights, and unplugging unused appliances. They provide each classroom with a Recycle Bin and are responsible for emptying them every week. They also pick up items from the playground and around the school perimeter.
Under the guidance of Ms. Makowski, they encourage other students and staff to adopt the Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle way of thinking. The club is a voluntary group of members that work with Ms. Makowski throughout the week during school hours only.
