    Parent Academy

    The Office of Family and Community Engagement now offers virtual Parent Academy courses! Families can join by dialing in or joining courses online. We offer fun and interactive content for every family. From cooking to coding, the spring catalog is filled with activities to continue supporting our families. We hope to see you virtually, at an upcoming class, tea party, or distance learning training. View the Spring Catalog.

    Homework Hotline

    The Homework Hotline is a free resource available for all DPSCD students. It encourages outstanding achievement by giving students a way to ask for help and emphasizes improving problem-solving skills. Students and families can call in for help with Literacy and/or Math homework. The Homework Hotline is provided in partnership with United Way for Southeastern Michigan.  

    Due to COVID-19, the Homework Hotline hours are as follows:

    Monday – Thursday

    5:00 PM – 8:00 PM

    In accordance with MDE guidance and requirements for students with IEPs, DPSCD will have ESE (certified Special Education Teachers) available.


     

    Mental Health Support

    During the schools closure, a Mental Health Support Line has been added as a service for students and families. This support is staffed by school social workers, trained in addressing trauma, grief, and resource determination. They are available to provide online counseling to students and parents. In addition, students and families are able to receive referrals for additional services. 

    The Mental Health Hotline hours are as follows:

    Monday – Thursday

    9:00 AM - 4:00 PM

    5:00 PM – 8:00 PM

    Friday

    9:00 AM – 3:00 PM

    Online Mental Health Services

    Community Care Services provides outpatient mental health and substance use disorder treatment for children, teens, and adults in Southeastern Michigan online through Telehealth. Telehealth will connect you to treatment through your computer, tablet, or smartphone.
