Black History Month Art
The 5th Grade students at Harms Elementary learned about value shading and Black History this month. After viewing short biography films on four significant Civil Rights leaders, students selected one for their art project. They cut a portrait of Malcolm X, Rosa Parks, Martin Luther King Jr., or Ruby Bridges, then drew and value shaded the other side. Additionally, students read books from our myON online library. Students chose to write an important fact, or a quote related to their leader. Our 5th grade students continued their learning and appreciation for diversity.
