Edison's 1st Daddy Daughter Dance
Sometimes, the only time a father dances with his daughter is when he is giving her away at her wedding. On Friday, January 18, 2019, Edison Elementary School took steps to build a connection between significant male role models and their daughters with its first Daddy Daughter Dance. The Daddy Daughter Dance can be an unbelievable catalyst in bringing fathers and their daughters closer together. As Edison Dads and Daughters walked the red carpet to the gymnasium, they were greeted to a transformed environment of pink and white. Tables adorned with white linen table cloths, pink runners, bows, table displays, and balloons elated the hearts of all who attended. Edison’s first Daddy Daughter Dance was an evening for all young girls to build a special bond with a significant male figure in their lives. The dance focused on the importance of fathers and daughter having a healthy and strong relationship. The 1st strong male bond girls have is with their dads and this event teaches young girls what it means to be treated with love, respect, and kindness. Edison girls and their dads were dressed in their Sunday best and looked simply gorgeous while socializing with their peers, dancing with their dads, sipping punch and eating a full course meal. The event was a huge success thanks to Mrs. Walton from the Department of Human Services and Edison staff.
