Take advantage of this opportunity to get in-depth information on your child’s progress as well as strengthen your relationship with their teachers.
Special Olympics Basketball Teams Compete for State Championship: Congratulations to the Special Olympics co-ed basketball teams from Diann Banks and two from Drew Transition Center. They became the first ever DPSCD Special Olympics teams to qualify for the state championship, held on Friday, March 17, 2023. Led by the Office of Exceptional Student Education (ESE), read how DPSCD’s Special Olympics has opportunities for your exceptional needs students with expanded programming options.
Parents are Heroes Conference Set for Thursday, March 23, 2023, at the Renaissance Center Detroit Marriott from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Parents, you are invited to gain insights and resources as DPSCD staff and community members come together to learn, share, and support one another. The conference will include workshops on the challenges and influences of social media, setting goals and tips on managing stress. There will also be guest speakers, breakfast, lunch, and free books. Welcome Wednesday Virtual Open House March 22, 2023: Parents, led by the Office of Enrollment, this week’s featured schools will be Cooke STEM Academy, Coleman A. Young Elementary School, and Emerson Elementary-Middle School. The online Open House runs from 4:30 p.m.-5:30 p.m. Click here to register.
Spring Break Week is March 27, 2023-March 31, 2023: Students and parents, a reminder that the District will be on spring break from Monday, March 27 through Friday, March 31.
